Aloeformocha Dark Skin Care 101

What are “Darker” skin tones?

Darker skin is "ethnic skin" or "skin of color." Darker skin contains higher levels of melanin than the levels found in lighter skin tones. The amount of melanin in darker skin has a wide range of concentrations, and depends greatly upon your heritage.

Do I have dark skin?

If you are from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, the Pacific Islands, or are of mixed ethnic decent then you probably have a darker skin tone, or darker skin. Dark skin requires special care and customized solutions in order to address specific dark skin care needs.

Dark skin has its own unique and special concerns that vary greatly from skin with less melanin. Major concerns include:

Dark spots, marks, and scars (sometimes referred to hyperpigmentation)
    Dryness
    Ashiness
    Acne
    Sensitive and reactive skin
    Uneven skin tone

Aloeformocha products are specifically formulated to care for darker skin tones. We assure our products are 100%:

Simple Steps to Mocha Perfect Skin - Daily skin care instructions for darker-toned skin:

1. Diet, Rest, Exercise, and Water!
An important step for beautiful, mocha-perfect skin is to maintain a properly balanced diet; get plenty of rest (7 - 8 hours each night); moderate exercise; and drink adequate amounts water to flush out impurities - this does wonders for your skin!

2. Cleanse
Invest in a good cleanser. For normal, combination and oily skin, cleanse twice daily, morning and night. For drier skin, cleanse at night-time only and rinse off skin in the morning. Use your hands to massage cleanser on your face. Rinse off with water or a wet shammy.

3. Tone
Toning freshens and moisturizes the skin, assures proper PH balance of the skin, and removes excess residual left from cleansing and other skin care products.

4. Mask
In order to get a deep detoxification of the skin, use a clay or oatmeal mask 1 time per week to remove excess sebum from oily skin. Use a moisturizing mask to provide a hydrating boost to dry, moisture-starved skin.

5. Hydrate
Use moisturizers in the morning and evening after toning to keep the skin properly hydrated. To get an even-toned and radiant look to your skin, look for moisturizers that contain natural and effective brighteners (such as licorice extract and vitamin C) combined with advanced peptides that are clinically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation.

6. Eye Protection
Look for a natural-based, non-irritating eye treatment that combines anti-oxidants with clinically proven advanced peptide technology such as Eyeseryl R and EyelissTM to combat under-eye puffiness, bags, and dark circles. Use before going to bed for best results.
